  • Total Time = 4.5 hours
  • The emphasis of this week is to start the semester with the entire class having approximately the same level of knowledge and experience on how to conduct library research and producing a Research Binder and Formal Essay Outline, before the students start writing their essays.
  • During the class we are in the computer lab, I introduce the students to the computer lab environment and the course website in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • During the class we are in the regular classroom, I introduce students to the Ten Minutes of Mindfulness approach.

  • Ten Minutes of Mindfulness (regular classroom only)

  • Second class:  Critical Thinking Quiz #1
  • Friday at 4:00 p.m. the Research Binder and Essay #1 is DUE
    Created and written in groups of 2-3 students
    Solo is optional
  • Note:  Essay #1 is a Formal Outline only
