Discuss the meanings of the
following quotation:
Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.

Sequence #2 Responsible Business Midterm = 75 minutes
- To be an ethical, responsible manager or business person often requires applying a framework to your thinking. The one I've come to find the most helpful is the Responsible Business approach. It moves beyond and integrates all of the various approaches, including multiple ethical frameworks, CSR, and more. It's also a framework that helps to calculate the ROI on choices, which helps middle managers make the business case for decisions.

Sequence #4 Focusing Activity on Stakeholders = 15 minutes
- Stakeholders as a word is highly problematic. I use it, but only because I don't yet have a replacement.
Why do you think so many people don't like the word "stakeholder"? - Sharfstein J. M. (2016). Banishing "Stakeholders". The Milbank quarterly, 94(3), 476–479 https://www.milbank.org/quarterly/articles/banishing-stakeholders/
Sequence #5 About Midterm on Stakeholders = 40 minutes
- CONTEXT
This course investigates the interdependence of business and society, particularly corporate social responsibility, business ethics, socially responsive management and managing in an ever-changing environment. The course is intended to increase the student's knowledge of the complex linkages between business and society. The course is also aimed at generating student awareness of the increasing scrutiny of business by society at large and what that means for business practices today. - Introduction
This is a take-home mid-term assessment completed in groups of 3 students or less. You are to record a Pecha Kucha presentation persuading a particular stakeholder group to buy into a new initiative. Each group must choose a different stakeholder group while the initiative you are persuading people to join remains the same. - This semester, your focus will be to present to the School of Business faculty what you think should be happening (i.e. the stakeholder engagement strategies) to better understand what Business students want during Covid times and to better meet student expectations (re communications, planning, changes, etc.)
- For your presentation, touch on the six parts of stakeholders:
1. About stakeholders
2. Stakeholder democracy
3. Stakeholder engagement
4. Stakeholder management
5. Stakeholder power
6. Stakeholder theory - AUDIENCE Your audience is are all the faculty members in CSB
i.e. Your audience is not the specific instructor who is doing the marking - About the Images on each slide
On each slide with an image, you need to have a small textbox giving the source of the image. Have you forgotten where you got the image? Do a reverse image look-up to retrieve the URL. https://www.businessinsider.com/google-reverse-image-search
Most slides should be images (with the source info), but there are times it makes sense that a slide has a few words
The goal here is to make a modern presentation that isn't text-heavy - After uploading the recording, make sure to add the transcript to allow for Closed Captioning viewing of your video
